Advice on applying Make-up for Brides for that Special Day
from Jane Iredale Mineral Cosmetics.

The first thing that Jane advises is to 'think layering'.  It is likely that in these hot summer days that the bride will be waging a war against shiny skin all day long, so she may wish to decide whether she needs that layer of moisturiser that she would usually wear.

Step 1 Prime that Skin for a flawless complexion

Absence 1 and 2

Prime oily skins, skins with large pores, or other distractions such as acne scarring with Absence (light).

Apply a thin layer with a Foundation Brush.

For darker skins use Absence 2 (tan).

You should not be able to see Absence if it is applied correctly, the aim here is for it to help control oil.

Step 2 - Applying your Foundation

Liquid minerals
Liquid Minerals Foundation

Flocked sponge
Flocked Sponge

Apply Liquid Minerals with the Foundation Brush. Spritz the brush if you want sheerer coverage. Don't overwork this step.

If you need to smooth the foundation out more, then use a dry Flocked Sponge as the final step. If you are more comfortable with your fingers, use them too.

The object is to work Liquid Minerals into the skin so it can access all the anti-oxidant value, allow the hyaluronic acid to keep the skin looking dewy all day and to provide that flawless velvet look.

Don't forget the under-eye area. A gentle pat of Liquid Minerals under the eye with your ring finger (as it's usually the weakest) may be all you need as a concealer.

Step 3- Powders and Blushers

Jane Iredale Pure Pressed
Base
Pressed Mineral Powder

JAne Iredale Pure Pressed
Blush
Pure Pressed Blush

eye lid primers
Lid Primers

Apply Mineral Powder. You may wish to consider using the pressed as it's slightly more matte than the loose which can be helpful with disguising any oily sheen from that camera.

If you would like a 'glow from within' look think about applying the Pure Pressed Blush before the powders.

One tip for getting those apple cheeks is to mix a lipstick 50/50 with a Lid Primer and then lightly brush the minerals over it. It follow the look through then use the same lipstick undiluted on the mouth with a  touch of gloss to give that sparkle!

Step 4 - Do you need extra concealer?

Active Light
Active Light

Now start to think about whether some additional concealer may be needed under the eyes or on the frown lines, and if so what do you use - Circle Delete, Active Light, a combination?

If you wish to highlight use Active Light. For example, if it needs to be under the eyes then start at the top of the cheekbone and blend it up and out.

For coverage for grey or blue circles, try the peach Circle Delete, then if needed a thin layer of Active Light could be placed over the top to bring lightness to a dark area.

Be brave with your concealers and try not to choose one that is too light - a rule of thumb is the darker the circle the darker the concealer as a too light concealer will leave you with an unattractive ashy effect and will pronounce puffiness. Test the concealer over the foundation - if it disappears then it's the right colour.

Step 5 - Your Eyes

eye lid primers
Lid Primers

To eliminate redness, establish a base and provide a subtle highlight, apply a thin layer of the Lemon Lid Primer on the upper lid and up to brow bone. Then apply any Eye Shadows.

Avoid anything on the brow bone that has shimmer, as the camera lash will turn this into a mirror.

Step 6 - Set what you have done

Facial Sprays
Facial Spritz

Now use any of the Spritzs over the face - pat gently with fingers to help absorption and setting, and when absorbed roll/press with the Flocked Sponge all over the face.

This will turn your good application of make-up into a great one!
